How does matching work?
Every day you get a curated deck plus one Today's Pick. We look at your intentions, your interests, and who's nearby and active, then show you people who fit — with the reason we chose them shown right on the card. It's fewer, better matches, not an endless feed. When you and someone else both like each other, it's a match, and you can start chatting.
Why does each card show a reason?
We think you deserve to know why we're showing you someone. So every card names it — shared interests, the same intentions, someone close by. There's no hidden desirability score deciding who you deserve to see, and no way to pay to jump ahead of someone. What you see is honest.
Who can see my likes — and can I see who likes me?
Yes, and it's completely free. Everyone on Lovio can see the full list of people who've liked them, unblurred, at no cost. This is the one thing other apps charge the most for, and we think that's wrong. Your likes are yours.
How does photo review work, and how long does it take?
Every photo you upload is reviewed by a real person before it goes live and before anyone else can see it. It keeps the app real and safe from the first screen. Review is usually done in under 24 hours — often much faster. You'll be able to see the review status of each photo on your profile.
How does verification work?
Verification is a quick selfie that a person on our team reviews to confirm you match your photos. Once you're verified, a badge appears on your profile so others know a real human checked. It's one of the simplest ways to show you're genuine — and to trust that others are too.
How do I unmatch, block, or report someone?
Open the profile or your chat with them and use the menu in the corner. You can unmatch to quietly end the connection, block to make it total and instant on both sides, or report to send it to our team. Every report is read by a real person, and you can block at the same time so you don't have to see or hear from them again.
Is my location shared with other people?
Your precise location is never shared with anyone. Other members only ever see a rounded, approximate distance — enough to know if someone is nearby, never enough to find you. You're always in control of your location settings, and you can use Global mode if you'd rather not share distance at all.
How do I change my discovery preferences?
Head to Settings, then your discovery preferences. You can adjust who you'd like to meet, your distance range, your intentions, and more. Your deck updates to match. Change them any time — nothing is locked in.
What is Today's Pick?
Today's Pick is one specially chosen profile we surface each day — the person we think fits you best that day, based on your intentions and interests. It's the heart of our fewer-better approach: one thoughtful suggestion instead of an infinite pile to swipe through.
What do Plus and Infinity add?
The free experience is genuinely complete — the deck, your matches, unlimited conversations, and seeing everyone who likes you. Plus (€7.99/month) and Infinity (€14.99/month) add extra reach and convenience on top. The price is flat and identical for everyone, at every age and in every city. You never pay to be seen ahead of someone else — that's a promise, not a product.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Cancelling takes one tap in the app — no hoops, no hidden steps, no calls. Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, and then it simply stops. You keep the full free experience for as long as you like.
How do I download my data?
Go to Settings and choose to export your data. We'll put together a copy of your information for you to download. It's your data, and getting a copy is a right we take seriously.
How do I delete my account?
In Settings you can delete your account, and it's real and permanent — not a hidden deactivation that quietly keeps your data. Once you confirm, your profile and personal information are removed. If you've met someone and you're ready to go, we're genuinely happy for you.
Does Lovio use AI to write my messages?
No, and it never will. Our AI works quietly behind the scenes on safety and matching quality — spotting scams, screening for harm, and helping surface people who fit. It will never write your messages or retouch your photos. The whole point of Lovio is that the person someone meets is really you.
