Your safety

Date safely, with
people watching your back.

Meeting someone new should feel good, not risky. Here's how to look after yourself when you date — and everything we do, quietly, to keep Lovio a place for real people.

Dating safely

A few calm habits go a long way. None of this should feel like a chore — it's just how confident people meet safely.

Meet in public, the first few times

Choose a busy place you know — a café, a bar, somewhere with people around. Make your own way there and back. There's no rush to be alone with someone you've just met.

Tell a friend where you'll be

Share who you're meeting, where, and when. A quick message before and after means someone always knows you're safe. It's a small habit that matters.

Video-chat first

A short video call before you meet is one of the simplest ways to know someone is who they say they are. If they always avoid it, take that as a sign.

Never send money

No genuine match will ask you for money, gift cards, or crypto — not for a flight, an emergency, or an investment. A money request early on is the clearest scam signal there is. Stop, don't pay, and report it.

Trust your instincts

If something feels off, you don't owe anyone an explanation. You can unmatch, block, or leave at any point. Your comfort comes first, always.

Keep it on Lovio at first

Getting pushed to move to another app or to text right away can be a way to get around our safety tools. Take your time. Chat here until you're ready.

What Lovio does

Safety here isn't a feature you pay for. It's built into the app from the first screen you see.

Human photo review

Every photo is reviewed by a person before it goes live and before anyone can see it. It's how we keep the app real from the very first screen.

Verification badge

Members can verify with a quick selfie that a person on our team reviews. A verification badge means a real human confirmed they match their photos.

Reports read by people

When you report someone, a real person reads it — not just a machine. We review the account and act, from a warning through to a permanent ban.

Instant, symmetric blocking

Block someone and it's total and immediate. Neither of you can see or contact the other, and it works both ways at once. No lingering, no loophole.

Scam and message screening

Our systems watch for the patterns scammers use — money requests, off-app pushes, harmful links — and flag them for review, so problems get caught early.

18+ only

Lovio is strictly for adults. We gate on age at sign-up, and anyone found to be under eighteen is removed. This is a space for grown-ups seeking real connection.

How to report someone

If someone makes you uncomfortable, reporting takes seconds — and a real person reads every one.

  1. 1

    Open the profile or chat

Go to the profile of the person, or open your conversation with them.

  2. 2

    Tap the menu, then Report

Use the menu in the top corner. Choose Report and pick the reason that fits best.

  3. 3

    Add anything that helps

You can add a short note. Details help our team review faster and fairly.

  4. 4

    We take it from there

A person reviews your report. You can block at the same time so you don't have to see or hear from them again.

Community Rules

Lovio works because of the people in it. These are the standards everyone agrees to when they join — simple, and non-negotiable.

Be real

Be yourself. Real photos, honest age, honest intentions. No pretending to be someone you're not.

Be kind

Treat people the way you'd want to be treated. A no is a full sentence, and everyone deserves a respectful one.

18+ only

Lovio is for adults. You must be eighteen or over to be here — no exceptions.

No harassment

No hate, threats, unwanted sexual messages, or pressure of any kind. Everyone gets to feel safe.

No commercial content

Lovio is for meeting people, not for selling, promoting, or soliciting. No ads, no scams, no fundraising.

No harm

Nothing that endangers others — no violence, no illegal activity, no attempts to exploit or deceive.

When the rules are broken

We respond in proportion to what happened. Honest mistakes get a chance to be put right. Anything that puts a person at risk does not.

STEP 1

Warning

A first or minor breach usually gets a clear warning and a chance to put it right.

STEP 2

Removal & limits

Repeated or serious breaches lead to removed content and restricted access.

STEP 3

Permanent ban

Harm, scams, or anything that endangers someone means an immediate, permanent ban.

If you're ever in danger

If you feel unsafe or think a crime has taken place, contact your local emergency services right away. Your safety in the moment matters more than anything on this app — call for help first, and you can report the account to us afterwards.
